SolMan installation fails at Create SAPJSF user and SAPJSF doesnt exist

Hi all

I am trying to install Solution Manager 4.0 on RHEL 4 with

--database Oracle 10.2

--IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-12.0.x86_64

The installation encounter an error (32/47) at create SAPJSF user. Here I am posting the error

As explained in another thread, I tried to remove SAPJSF user, but the user doesn't even exist...

and to work around, I tried to create SAPJSF user as DDIC and assign the role SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION_RO but it says the role SAP_BC_JSF_COMMUNICATION_RO is not in the customer namespace; see long text....

I have been spending so much time on this but getting nowhere...

can anyone please help me.....

I remember that this problem occurs on certain OS/JDK combinations, Linux may be one of them.

The problem is, that "some tool" was not unpacked correctly to your installation directory, hence the Java tool trying to verify the user can´t start. You are not yet even reaching the system to check so this is not SAPJSF user related but related to the installation itself.

Which DVDs do you use for installing? Are you using the SR4 versions? If not, I´d try those, they don´t contain that error.

@Naveen: I am running SLES 10 on a 32 bit Machine, so i think sun-jdk is the right choice.

If you use 64-bit-Machine then you use the ibm-jdk.

My Problem is already solved.

I heard from a colleague that the Java Version I used (1.4.2.11) is incompatible and leads to this error.

I changed the jdk to 1.4.2.09, known as stable, and it worked.

This problem normally arises with the wrong combination of JDK and OS and for the Linux machines,

You didn't mention the java version you were using. its better to use IBM Java instead of SUN java

I remember that I have solved this type of problem by using lower version of IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-10.0.x86_64.rpm which is SR10 and re-started the installation.

You can download this version from

http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/jdk/linux/download.html

proceed to download _12 and then just change the sr12 to sr10 in the header url....

True - but the affected box here is 32bit - and on 32bit Linux systems the Sun JDK is used.

This is not valid for the IBM JDK but only for the Sun JDK on x64 and only on Windows.

I'm facing the same problem during installation of SAP Solution Manager 4.0 SR 2 on Suse Linux Enterprise Server 10.3 with MaxDB on i386 32-bit architecture.

The Installation hangs in Phase 35 of 47.

The problem here is solved by using

IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-10.0.x86_64 and restarted the whole installation again

If you use higher versions of java for 64 bit systems, there are some serious stack overflow problems...

This is true for Windows x64 and Sun Java.

Note 1172419 - Linux: Supported Java versions on the x8664 platform_

The currently required version of the IBM JDK 1.4.2 is SR12.

Please verify that you are using this version running 'java -fullversion'. The version and build information in the output text must be:

"J2RE 1.4.2 IBM build j9xa64142-20080923 (SR12)"

Can you suggest me which JDK(64 bit) is good for RHEL AS release 4 (Nahant Update 7) 64 bit and where can I download it ?

I am using Solution Manager 4.0 SR 4 versions...

The JDK I used here is IBMJava2-AMD64-142-SDK-1.4.2-12.0.

Can you also suggest me what are the possible ways I can do from this stage....
