Performance of input ready query when large data in real time cube.

Hello Experts,

I have a real time BW cube which gets updates with Input ready Queries Or various Planning functions.

BW query or planning function works on a specific set of data at a time.

We want to know when Total Data(Number of rows) in BW Cube gets too high, lets say 3x in some time.

Will the performance of BW query or Planning function(for a specific set of data) degrades? assume that mentioned specific data set is not increased but the total data in cube gets increased.

Hi Kamal,

It is not easy to say yes or not. Planning runtime is dependent by many factors, including OLAP runtime, front-end runtime and planning runtime itself. If the data volume of cube is increased, OLAP runtime might be affected when reading the changed data and reference data. front-end runtime might be affected if the result needs to be visualized, for example. Some check runtime, e.g. characteristic relationship and SID check, might be increased as well. All of the impacts should be evaluated case by case.
