HI,

O.k.,

How the MSS and the ESS application distinguish between users(employee,or managers)?

The MMS is for managers.

The ESS is for Employees (which includes the managers).

They are seperate applications, which have seperate application specific roles.

Note that we are talking about portal roles here, in addition to the ABAP backend roles assigned directly to the user if the authentication is transparent and in the context of the portal user ID as well.

Still we need more specific information from you. This question is very vague (e.g. Do you even have a portal?) ...

Cheers,

HI Julius ,

I Assume that the portal get the Roles from the backend ,but how the portal application now

Who is the manager and who is employee ,in the PFCG there is Role like HR manager or this is something that retrieve from org chart?

Your client should give you this information (who the managers are) and which access they need. You can then advise them on how to integrate the portal and the backend, and whether this information should be obtained from the org structure in SAP or an Excel file on someone's PC.

Trying to automate such role provisioning from the HR events is the most elegant design in my opinion, but I don't have a crystal ball to look into to see what's going on over there on your side of the internet...

Last request: Please be more specific!

PA20> Input personal number> Hit on Display>Org Structure>A Pop up comes Select Position and select Choose.

It takes you to Staff Assignments/ Display Screen.

If a person has a Cap kind of a thing just next to his personal number, he/she is a manager

Roles should be assigned depending on it.

In Organizational Security for a manager to accept the request raised by his sub ordinates[MSS] functionality. Cap is must.

I Hope this might help you.

Michael,

My advise is to read up or take HR 940 ADM class. It will address security base on organizational structure (manager vs employees), enabling & taking advantage of structural authorizations, and incorporating into security roles, etc.

Good Luck!
