Install SAP Best practices of S4HANA (on premise) 1709 release on older S4HANA systems

Hello,

We have recently installed an instance of SAP S4HANA 1610 FPS0 and found that the configuration for EWM has to be done manually.

Later, I have found that there is an SAP Best Practice for S4HANA On premise, including the necessary configuration for EWM, which can be used in a standard warehouse for training purpose.

The question is, the newest version for this BP is 1709 but my system is 1610 release. So can we install the newest BP (1709) on the system without any error?

Or do we have to install and 1610 version, and make additional configuration?

Thank you for your quick response and it is very helpful.

I have checked the "Administration Guide to Implementation of SAP S/4HANA with SAP Best Practices (1709 FPS0)", and found that EWM configuration still needs to be manually done in the system, unfortunately.

This makes me think that if we download the BP and install it separately, we will still need to perform the same manual work, as stated in the Guide. Is this true? Or is there any way we can install a preconfigured EWM warehouse?

You can't use the 1709 Best Practices in 1610 system. You should either provision a new S/4 system or upgrade the current one.
