How to track changes in characterstic attached to a class to a DIR?

Can i do some change so that once a value to a characterstic is given, user can not change it afterwards?

Hi,

under classification authorization,

try authorization object : C_CABN ( Authorization for Characteristics Maintenance )

under this you can maintain activities like

01 Create or generate

02 Change

03 Display

Its not solvng the problem..Better if i can get history of changes done in a characteristic value

Hi,

your requirement is dat once user sets one value then no other user must be able to modify it later..

you can try this,

give charactertics authorization only to initiator (who wil initiate document) as during creation of DIR only characteristics value can be set..

for all other users dont give any characteristics authorization.

if you need to track changes to characteristic value then you need to go for development..

Not exactly. Even the person who has entered the value of characteristic also should not able to change it. i think, the value of characteristc once entered go to some table, can we see the values over there??

I mean that, if a user enters a date as a value in a characteristic and save the DIR. next time if he changes that date characteristic valuue in DIR, can we know what was the old value any where?

Please explain wat u mean by "track changes"?

You can search DIR s based on CHAR values in cv04n..

Also if u want to make any changes in CHARS, u can do that in ct04..
