Help Understanding Time Evaluation

Hello,

I have recently moved from programming to Time Management. Are there any object oriented programs/approaches for running time evaluation. I do see a few exits/BAdIs, not that many. Also would it be advisable to try implicit code enhancements within RPTIME00.

Hi,

RPTIME00 is around a long time, and over the years there has been very few 'enhancements' from SAP to the core functionality.

In my experience, you will not find any 'OO' coding within it.

In terms of implicitly enhancing RPTIME00, it is hard to see a situation where you would ever need to do that.

What is available thru standard configuration, PCRs and functions is reasonably comprehensive and when you add the user exits, there is not much you cannot do.

When you approach this from an ABAP background there is a risk you rush into custom PCR / Function development or coding exits, when in fact with a little investigation the same result could have been achieved thru standard configuration.

Please help me out with your suggestions or if you have different viewpoint. Also, any of you know non-virtual physical classroom advanced time evaluation classes in United States that someone offers. SAP cancelled a class (would have been next week 😞 ) I had registered for because of numbers.
