Hello
in which programming language the SAP MDM is written and devloped ?
Is it witten in java or .Net
How it is on netweaver platform ? because of API ? how API connect to MDM ?
Hi Friend,
Yes,MDM is not an Java or dot net developed tool, rather a C++ designed tool.MDM was originally a product of the A2I company. It was later taken over by SAP and became part of teh SAP netweaver stack.
SAP-MDM is part of the information management module in the netweaver model.and deals with master data management with SAP and even Non SAP system.
If you want to access MDM through its client then you need to install the 4 MDM gi on the system you wish to use.
- MDM Console
- MDM Data manager
- MDM Import manager
- MDM Syndicator
If you want to utilize the MDM functionlities through the Web or through systems other than the MDM clients like teh ABAP system or Portal front end. Then you need to access this using the API.
MDM can be integrated through 3 main types of API namely:
- JAVA API
- ABAP API
- COM API
Hope It Helped
Thanks & Regards

Hi,
it should be mentioned that the COM API has been tagged as obsolete with MDM 7.1.
The more complete and convenient .NET API should be used for microsoft based projects from MDM 7.1 on.
Kind Regards

Hi,
SAP MDM is a C++ product.
It was later acquired by SAP and hence became a part of NetWeaver Stack.
The APIs are added features to access the MDM GUIs through extensive programming wherein the systems in landscape can be both SAP as well as Non SAP.
Hope it helps.
Thanks,
Minaz
