Installation of Sybase ASE 15.7 shows 1 non-fatal error on installation

After the installation of the exe completes, the log file in the location C:\Sybase\log\ASE_Suite.log has one non-fatal error entry in it.

The command used to install,

C:\WINDOWS\system32>"D:\QA\Sybase\Package\ebf19808\setupConsole.exe" -f "D:\QA\Sybase\Package\ebf19808\Install.properties" -i silent -DRUN_SILENT=true

Only the installation of the product was performed, leaving the configuration part to be done at the user end.

Please find the attached response file used to install. install.txt

Could anyone please let me know if the issue is caused, since the configuration is not held during installation or because of license.

Hello Geetha Anjali,

Looking at logs and found messages as below

SySAM Error (0): Failed to get address information for email delivery to smtp. Error=11001 No such host is known. 

Status: ERROR
                          Additional Notes: ERROR - The product configuration failed.

Please check the product configuration log files in "C:\Sybase\ASE-15_0\init\logs" and consult Sybase Customer Service & Support at http://www.sybase.com/support.

Did you check the log file what it is mentioned in message?

You need to provide this information even notification is not enabled !!!

Hi Yokesh Patel,

Thank you so much for the answer.

The email configurations are pre-populated during installation and hardcoded with the machine and email data of the person who installs the application. Hence after the response file was created we have removed the instance of email and server configurations.Then silent installation of the application was carried out with the created response file.

Can the email configurations be done by the end-users, post installation of application?

The log is not created right after the installation, only when the shortcut (Server Config) is launched the logs are created.

We are not able to find any configuration related data in the logs. (We do not have any Server configuration data from our packaging end)
