CPU Sizing for BIA

Former Member

Hi Gurus,

Based on our User count we were able to calculate 2555 SAPS required for BIA. Can you please explain what does this number mean? How many CPUs are required based on the above figure. I understand that SAPS is a CPU performance unit.

I found information on how to convert 2555 SAPS to RAM. 300 SAPS account to 1 GB ram. Does it mean that one CPU with 9 GB ram should serve our purpose?

Can you please explain how to relate number of SAPS to number of CPUs required

Thanks

Vamshi Bommena

What vendor are you working with? The vendor should recommend you BIA configuration based on the parameters you provide to them.

Hi,

We havent approached any vendor yet.

Memory Estimate for the Program: 115 GB

SAPS rating: 2555

If we provide this information to the vendor will he be able to suggest us?

is there anything else i have to provide to the vendor?

Thanks

Vamshi

In HP we do the configuration proposal based on the output of this program plus additional questionnaire from a customer.

You can shoot me an e-mail on vitaliy.rudnytskiy/at/hp.com if you want.

Hi,

Refer to Note 1010267 for details on how sizing can be performed for BIA.

Use Quick Sizer for a new project or use note 917803 if you already have a BI system loaded with data.

Also, refer to thread by Marc Bernard :
