Masthead issue Portal 7.5

Hi Experts,

We have upgraded our portal from 7.3 to 7.5 and facing issue with Masthead.

We have designed the Theme using 7.3 Theme Editor and publishing the same in Portal 7.5(UI5 Theme designer).

Issue is after successful build in 7.5, Theme displays fine except Masthead issue.

"Masthead displays with vertical lines."

Please suggest if anyone encounterd the same.

Hello Soumya,

This is due to the fact that the border-spacing of 2px is inherited from table CSS rule, as these vertical lines are part of table in the masthead and not actually part of the components in the masthead.

In general , "user agent stylesheet" is the browsers default style sheet as properties were never overridden by portal and this is the reason you will not find these parameters to make the change in UITD tool.

Also remember there are different CSS for IE and Chrome. ie6.css for IE, and sf3.css for Chrome and Firefox.

This is the reason that custom CSS might work only for specific browsers and not for others.

As you might be already aware, Manual modification of CSS for themes in not supported and cannot be guaranteed, as it is not upgrade proof and it has to be repeated after every upgrade.

Hi Narayana,

I have a question though.... I am working with Portal 7.5. And i have requirement to move Search (in masthead ) to Masthead menu bar.

For this, i downloaded the masthead war , and make changes to the "Masthead.jsp" file.

I am able to move the quicklaunch-container (related to Search) to the menu bar but the search is getting disabled.

Is it a standard functionality or i am missing something here ?
