Send email to employee when Leave is approve via HRMSS_C_CATS_APPROVAL_1

Hello gurus...

We're using HRMSS_C_CATS_APPROVAL_1 application to approve leave requests. I wonder if there is a way to enhance this to include sending of notification email to employee(s) when their leaves have been approved.

By the way, we're not using workflow, just wanted to ask if there was anybody here that has encountered the same requirement.
