How to rename the CDS view.

Hi ,

I have created one CDS view in eclipse. I want to rename that view.

Could you please tell me how to rename the view.

Once it is transported, you can't rename it any more (neihter the CDS entity nor the DDL source code nor the CDS database view). If it was not yet transported, duplicate it to a new name and then delete it.

By transport you mean, move it to QA/Prod systems or just activating in the same system.

I activated the CDS view in development system so it generated corresponding CDS database view. When I tried to edit CDS database view name in DDL source code then system gave me error. I think even in this case, I have to delete the CDS view and then again create the CDS view with new CDS database view name in DDL source.

I too am having this problem. The view has not been transported anywhere as far as I know. I've simply activated it once, got the View name slightly wrong, changed the view name in the DDL source and on trying to reactivate it it won't reactivate. I've deleted the DDL source completely, removed all reference to it from the transport, then recreated it, but get the exact same error. This seems rather poor, as I should be able to recreate it with a correction to the view name. Would love Horst to provide further commentary.

In 2023 still having the same issue. One little extra underscore is very hard to remove. I too tried to delete from ADT and then delete from transport. But it tells me it is still around somewhere.
