Change of ORACLE_HOME in application DB Bundle Patch 12.2 - 201805

1050 Views

Good morning,

I have applied the SBP 12.2.0.180417 - 201805 on our SAP Oracle 12.2 Databases.

SAP asks to perform the MOPatch with ORACLE_HOME set to /oracle/SID/12201.

Then it tells to perform the catspb with ORACLE_HOME set to /oracle/SID/122.

This is a source of possible error because the processes that connects to the DB must have the same ORACLE_HOME as the one used to start the DB.

If it is not the case, it would not work.

I guess that there is a reason behind SAP choice.

Could you, please, explain me why SAP changes the ORACLE_HOME instead of always using /oracle/SID/122?

Have a good day.
