What do you mean by external binding? Binding between component instances or some sort of binding to non-Web Dynpro ABAP components? Please be specific as to what you are looking for.

I am not able to see any thing in the link provided by you.Its taking me to a page where there are option on left hand side for the contents but when I am clicking no contet is displaying..
