SAP cover page printed unnecessarily

Former Member

Hello,

When the user tries to print an order from SAP, there are always a couple of pages printed before the order is printed. On the top of these pages there is 'SAP' written in big font and then below it has the information about the client, spool receiver, Department, Spool request name, Spool request number, Database, Owner (user), Device type, Format type, priority, count etc.

For this printer in SPAD, the option 'print sap cover page' is UNTICKED but still this cover page is printed. What is causing these pages to print everytime an order is printed? Can someone share his/her experiences?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Atul.

Hai,

This is not due to SAP if you are not using the Print cover page option in the printer configuration or if the option is not selected when printing. Also check the printer device type whether it has been customised to print a cover page or not.

If the above case is not done then it is due to the form feed by the OS, this can be suppressed by disabling the Banner page in the remote print server.

Check the SAP Note: 77540 (it is old note, but good)

You can telnet into the print server and perform the command.

telnet <host name> press enter

banner:0

This will help.
