Sap Cloud Connector on AIX 7.1

Hi Experts,

We are looking forward to integrate Costs Center from SAP ERP with SuccessFactors, this using HCI as a middleware and the standard replication package for this scenario.

As we understand, to communicate HCI and SAP ERP, its mandatory to install SAP Cloud Connector on the Server. Our server runs on AIX 7.1 but We don't see this O.S in the list of the supported ones for SAP Cloud Connector.

Is there any alternative to use HCI without cloud connector or any way to install it on AIX?

Thanks in advance

Hi David

A couple of comments.

First off, the ERP to SuccessFactors cost center replication only communicates from on-premise to the cloud. Cloud Connector is only needed, if you need to access your on-premise systems from the cloud. You might very well still need Cloud Connector for other scenarios, though.

Second, Cloud Connector does not need to be installed on the actual ERP server. So even though AIX is not in the Product Availability Matrix, you can install Cloud Connector on a different server on your internal network. The only requirement is, that the ERP system can be reached from the Cloud Connector host.

Third, if Cloud Connector for some reason is not an option, you can use e.g. a reverse proxy setup to make it possible to call for instance an OData service on your ERP system from the cloud. When configuring a receiver channel in SAP Cloud Platform Integration, you would set the Proxy Type attribute to On-Premise in the Cloud Connector case, and to Internet in the reverse proxy case.

Regards,

Morten

Hello David,

While the SAP Cloud Connector makes it easy to establish a secure connection from on premise into the SAP Cloud Platform, it is not mandatory for HCI. In your case you would not create an on premise destination in SCP but a HTTPS one and then open the respective ports into your on premise landscape.

Best regards
