SAP C/4HANA .. What I need to know ?

Hi,

With the latest announcement of C/4 HANA launch at SAPPhire 2018, I have a few questions about the upgrade path for CRM ABAP application server. As i understated the C/.4 is going to be customer with a focus on front office, however what I was not able to gather is :

1) What is upgrade path for EHP4 FOR SAP CRM 7.0 ? There is no "Upgrade to" in PAM yet ?

2) Will there be a conversion or upgrade path from CRM 7.0 to C/4 like ERP to S/4 ?

3) Can C/4 stand alone without S/4 ?

4) Is C/4 exclusive stack of front office cloud offerings ? How does C4C and HYB fit into C/4 suite?

Thanks,

Rohit,

Hello Rohit, I see this question was never answered but I'm curious if you somehow found these answers in the past year? I find myself having the same questions and but haven't come across the answers yet. Anything you can share?

Thanks,

James

Hello Rohit,

Here is a response to your questions:

SAP C/4 is a cloud based SaaS offering. There are tools which will help with data migration but there is no automatic conversion from SAP CRM to SAP C/4. We have a number of services available which can make the transitions for customers easier as they adopt the new innovations that come with SAP C/4HANA.

Depending on the use SAP C/4 can operate standalone or need some backend support from S/4. e.g While we can do quotations and order capture in C/4, for order fulfullment we would need to integrate with SAP S/4 (or any other ERP backend).

The SAP C/4 suite includes five distinct cloud solutions: SAP Marketing Cloud, SAP Sales Cloud (C4C + CallidusCloud), SAP Service Cloud (C4C + Coresystems), SAP Commerce Cloud (formerly Hybris), and SAP Customer Data Cloud(Gigya), running on SAP Cloud Platform.

You can also read my blog which I recently published which talks about SAP C/4HANA and SAP CRM.
