Hey Guys ,
I Have to advise some client about the best procurement solution for their business. I clearly (kind of
) understand the difference between E-sourcing and SRM 7.0.
I would like to understand to what extend PPS is different from the combination of E-sourcing SRM7.0 ?
I am getting really really confusing...
Thanks in Advance.
Cheers
Hi,
SRM 5.0 Supports Single Envelope Bidding Process. They can submit the Bid Invitation to the bidder
and the Bidder submits the bid.
Purchaser has to compare the Technical and commercial terms and accept the BId (or) reject the bid.
SRM 7.0 with PPS ( Public Procurement System): In all govt organisation (Public Sector) they are following DOUBLE COVER DOUBLE ENVELOPE system where in SRM 5.0 does not support.
SAP SRM 7.0 with PPS will support the DOUBLE COVER DOUBLE ENVELOPE which is released in
Sept'2008
for more info search for PPS in net

Hey Julien
The major difference b/w the PPS over SRM or ESO is with the double envelop bidding process
In addition to that the Collaboration of cFolders comes in strongly with the PPS
double envelop bidding logic,
used majorly in Government procurement (Public Sector Procurement)
_Scenario:_ The RFx should support the Technical + Commercial Bid, the supplier will be able to open the commercial section of the Bid, only if he is able to satisfy the requirements slated out in the technical bid. Also its expected to have separate workflows for these 2 documents (Technical + Commercial)
However, SAP E-Sourcing 5.1 & SAP SRM does not have this feature out of the box
It is a key requirement they are looking at in future releases
Please do update the thread with any other information that you get from SAP
Cheers
