OSS Notes listed in SPAU: What about them?

Hi,

I am having a technical argument with someone.

Situation: We've upgraded a system from 4.6 to ECC 6.0. the development team is in the process of fixing SPAU and SPDD Codes. In the SPAU, there is also a list of OSS Notes listed with lights mostly grey, which turn Yellow (Note applicable but not implemented) if we download the latest version.

My friend here tells me that we need to review each and every one of these notes, irrespective of whether it was implemeted in 4.6C.

My Arguments:

1. This list of notes is only the notes that were downloaded using SNOTE, and does not consider notes that would have been applied directly using, say, Copy-Paste from sevice marketplace. So anyways it is not an all-inclusive list

2. If any note was implemented in the system, it would ave touched:

  • SAP Standard Code , in which case it would show up in my SPAU List

  • SAP Dictionary structures, In which case it would have figured in my SPDD

  • Custom Codes In which case, they would anyway figure in my UCCHECK if they need to be upgraded

  • Configurtion or Basis Parameters In which case ECC 6 installation would have anyways overwritten, or System copy would have brought it in

So if I do a complete SPDD-SPAU-UCCHECK, I have taken care of these notes and more. reimplementation requirements would have been identified as a part of that

3. Anyways, we keep downloading notes into SNOTE without even intending to implement them

So the big question is, who wins the argument, and who pays for the Friday beer 😊
