COPA derivation in Shipment Cost document not working

Hi:

We have set up item category assignment to perform account assignment automatically for shipping cost document type, however every time we calculate shipping costs we have to perform account assignment manually since all PA characteristics are not derived properly. We have to go through each screen of COPA account assignment screen and then click on Derivation and then save the document. Otherwise system issues a message "Account assignment incomplete".

We have to manually enter profitability segment for each one of the sales order line items. As soon as all profitability segments are populated the shipment cost document can be transferred to MM and create freight PO and service entry sheet.

My question is:

1. Is it a product error not populating these values in shipping cost document, or it is a normal behavior?

2. Does shipping cost transfer to PA require a manual account assignment in shipment cost document?

3. Are PA transferring rules preventing derivation to be performed at shipping cost document?

I would appreciate your input.

Thanks

Hi,

Please use the BADI "BADI_SCD_ACCTG " for automatic determination of G/l coount and cost center and the time of Shipment cost document creation.

also we used "BAPI_COPAACTUALS_POSTCOSTDATA" to automatically to post to COPA the values from SCD.

Hello Naga -

We are implementing shipment cost functinality in our project, for some reason the service PO that gets created is picking the account assignment category K ( forcing us to maintian an automatic cost center assignment). Our requirement is to post shipment cost informaiton directly to COPA. Can you please advice.

Thanks

Krishna
