Hi,
We have recently upgraded from 4.6B to ECC6.0. We are facing problem in using configurable material as a component in the Project, means the material is not triggering for Characteristic value assignment screen. It is throwing error saying 'you cannot configure the component - Reason 4' message no. CN565.
But the same material can be used for Assemble to order where it is triggering for doing configuration.
Please let me know if you have come across this kind of problem .
Regards,
Harish
Dear Harish,
The solution is:
In the configuration profile of the header material there was a setting for BOM explosion. It was single level and when I made it 'None', the problem was solved.
Actually at project level I was not exploding any BOM and the setting was like when you explode the BOM, the configuration profile was triggered.
But because no BOM explosion is there while assigning materials to network, it was saying that the configuration profile does not exist.
TCode CU42 - Change or Create additional Configuration Profile. Go to the Confign Initial Screen Tab and then to the Confign Parameters Tab

Niki
