Process IDOCs according to status

Greetings !

Until I go into hibernation again for the next few weeks/months, here is question from me to all the knowledgeable people out there :-).

Is it possible to restrict the processing of IDOCS by the "status" field in BD87. The objects checked by this Tcode are s_idocmoni and s_idocctrl and none of them seem to allow filtering on the basis of IDoc status.

If it is not possible, then is there a way of doing this ? I can think of creating a custom transaction. Also how do I find out which object is accessed by the "status" field in BD87 ?
