How to use user-exits.

Hi friends

Can any body help me to understand how to use an User-exit in a simple language.If possible, kindly explain with example step by step so that I can try and test in my system.

Also, please tell me where can I use User-exit or it is possible to use everywhere ?

If your standard configuration is not meeting client's specific requirements, then in that case you can go for user exit.

From SD point of view, go to IMG path -- SD -- System Modifications -- User Exits. Here if you drill down the arrow tab, you can see user exits that can be applied in SD. Click your cursor on the left box (documentation) which is written in simple language.

Just to explain briefly, in User Exits for Sales -- User Exit In Sales Document Processing, if you go through the documentation, you can see various user exits are explained.

Here let us take an example of User exits in the program MV45AFZZ - USEREXIT_NUMBER_RANGE. If you have couple of sales organizations and based on sales organization wise, if you want the sale order number ranges to flow, then you can use this user exit.

Like this, you can use.
