Good morning gurus,
I have this poblem with the transaction VL02N : when I try to launch an outbound delivery, I get this message: "Item to be picked by WM picking quantity cannot be entered)".
FYI, I enter the stock location and the picking quantity manually.
Thanks for your help!!!
Hi,
probably your storage location is linked to a Warehouse number.
You must create a transfer order for picking and confirm it.
In VL02N:
Subsequent functions / Create transfer order

Hi,
Please go into the delivery and check the picked qty (picking tab), picking status and WM status ion "Processing" tab (item level).
What can you see?
Is your storage location assigned to a WH?
Is something running in the background when you post GI? I'm asking this because you mentioned that you get the error message when you wanted to post the GI.
Please also provide the number (ID) of the error messages it might be helpful.

Csaba
Hi,
Plase find below the description of the items you asked about :
In the picking tab : Picked quantity (entered manually) is equal to delivery quantity (which is available in stock as appearent in MMBE)
In Processing tab : Picking - C - fully picked
WM status - - No WM trnsf ord reqd
As for the storage location, it is assigned to a WH and nothing is running in the background.
The ID of the error message is VL118. In case it might be useful, here is what it says in detail :
Diagnosis
For this item, picking is carried out using warehouse management
transfer orders since the material is stored in a warehouse with random
storage.
System response
The system does not allow you to enter a picking quantity manually. The
picking quantity is copied automatically into the delivery during the
creation of the corresponding transfer order.

Thi is very strange to me...
You said that SLoc assigned to a WH and you also said that WM status is "No WM trnsf ord reqd" (VBUP-LVSTA, in our system the text is "Not relevant" for this field if it is empty).
Since your SLoc is asigned to a WH I cannot understand why this status says it's not WM relevant.
If the item would be WM relevant (normally) you would have been not bale to input the picked qty manually...
My further questions:
- Does your material has WM view (for the WH that is assigned to the Plant/Sloc combination)?
- Can you see stock in LX02 for your material (under the SLoc, transaction code LX02)? What can you see in MB52 for the same SLoc? Are the reports in harmony?
- Are you facing the same error if you create a new delivery with the same item where the delivering Plant is the same as well as the SLoc?
- Delete the picked qty and change the SLoc to a non-WM managed SLoc > after that input again the SLoc that is assigned to th WH. What happens (WM status should appear, and picked qtry field should get disabled for manual input)?
I've checked OSS notes, there's only two in connection with this error message, none of them cover your problem (755559, 132767).

Csaba

Houda,
Please check the 'item category' setting. Is the item category you using 'relevant for picking'? This is a check at 'Item Category' level which needs to be set up. Go to IMG- LE- Shipping-Deliveries-Define Item Category and for your item category in the delivery check if it made relevant for picking.
Good luck!!
