Batch entry during GR

Dear Experts,

When doing GR for raw materials we want to enter the Manufacturing date , shelf-life and next inspection date . The main purpose of this requirement is that the next inspection date is provided by the vendor and hence we are not entering any inspection interval in the QM view of the material master .

But the system is not allowing to enter the values for these characteristics and is in display mode .Shall we use the enhancement MBCFC004 ( Maintenance of batch specifications for goods movements ) or suggest any other exits so that during GR the classification screen of the batch should enable us to enter data that should be updated in the relevant batch specific tables.

Characteristic LOBM_VFDAT (Shelf Life Expiry) and LOBM_HSDAT (Manufacturing Date) both are std. SAP Characteristic and set as Not ready for Input, that means value of both characteristic updates automatically only and not by manually.One more thing both characteristic are not changeable.But my question is why you want to enter value of both characteristic manually ? This characteristic are reference characteristic and represents the field VFDAT and HSDAT of transactions MIGO,MB31,MSC1N etc.

You are correct. we want to enter only the next inspection date during GR in the batch classification screen .

Hi,

That characteristic LOBM_QNDAT (Next inspection Date)is also non changeable and set as Not Ready For Input.This is a Batch Characteristic and its value is Comes from the combination of GR date + Inspection Duration from QM master data if material master.It is calculated and maintain automatically only.

Then what is the work around for this ? Our requirement is like that , and we want to enter the next inspection date as provided by the vendor initially during GR .
