Hello,
We have decided to create materials for items that were not handled in the system.
There is existing stock for these items.
After creating the materials, how should I enter the stock amount in the SAP system?
Should I do it via movement type 561- Initial Entry of Inventory or via physical inventory count ?
What are the pros and cons?
Thanks,
Dave
You have to use the intial stock enntry with 561 movement so this way you can create the stock entry and finantial entry.

Hi
movement types 701 and 702 are not compatible with MIGO and other goods movement transactions.
You need to enter using movement type 561 as it hits initial stock upload account where as 701/02 hits excess/shortage inventory account which should be not used for intial upload.
Thanks

Check the accounts that you heit with a 561 posting compared to 701 posting.
the offset account is probably different.
Further the 701 is an asynchron posting, means it cannot create storage location segment for material master (table MARD) and batch master (table MCHB)(if you customized automatic storage location creation), it just expects that they are there, while the 561 movement can create this views.
