Batch Assignment

Hi gurus, I need some help understanding how SAP works.

We have set up our sort rule with SLED(LOBM_VFDAT) for SD, so whatever the batch that has the smallest remaining shelf life is confirmed in the system now at the creation of Delivery Note (for the ones without WM).

However, when there are multiple batches with same SLED, it seems the assignment is unstable. Does anyone know what kind of logic is applied in this case? I hoped Batch Name is used, but I suppose this won't be sorted unless you put that in Characteristics.

We use Quantity proposal logic "1" or "001".

Hi,

Let me put your requirement other way round,

I pressume your material is having same SLED, which will not differ from batch to batch of the same material.

in this case,

instead of SLED, try to use sort rule as Production date LOBM_HSDAT, sequense will be Ascending order. which means, batch which is produced early will pick that batch ( ur requirement will also fulfill, batch produced early will be expired first, similarly 2nd batch, will have other expiry date)

first produced batch will expire first- rite?

Change sort rule from VFDAT to HSDAT.

maintain VCH1 with selection criterial / sort rule- in Delivery. ( fyi- in order, only one batch will pick, std SAP will not pick multiple batches in order, but the same is possible in Delivery)

check MSC2N- for the same batch with production date/classification -select "create" button

try n rever
