Printing issue after export from portal to excel 2007

Hi experts,

I would like to know your opinion on the following problem. User is exporting BW report from portal to excel. He wants to print. So in page setup he sets orientation to landscape, and sets scaling to fit to 1 to 1 page. In spite of this the actual report is displayed only on 1/4th of the page in the left, the rest is blank. We are using MS Excell version 2007, BW is 7.00. Can there be any more invisible collumns exported which case this problem with page setup?

Is it even problem of SAP?

We found that in page setup screen in Excell, in the last tab called 'Sheet' there is an option: 'Collumns to repeate at left'. The original setting (after exporting from portal) is the first 6 columns, which is not even the whole report. When we delete this problem is solved. But the question is - can this be deleted by default? How to do it?

Thank you,

Michal

Could we clarify whether the report is being downloaded to Excel from a web template containing a BEx query or is it just a BEx query?

Are the reports entered into the "SAP User Menu" for the users to run from a particular security role/folder? If so, can you see the complete name of the report, like the user can see?

For example, a web template might have the prefix "SAP_BW_TEMPLATE - " prior to the actual report name. When the user clicks on it, they would see the word "template" somewhere in the URL.

If it is a query, the prefix might be "SAP_BW_QUERY - " prior to the actual report name. When users click on the title, they would see the word "query" in the URL.

If the reports are not published to a security role/folder, it is still possible to publish the report on the portal another way. However, this method does not indicate whether it is a web template or query. If this is the method used, perhaps the portal administrator could let you know what the tech name of the report was that they published, so that you could investigate further?

Hi Sharon,

I found the word query in the URL so the template is not used, it is just a BW query.

Thank you,
