We are currently unable to schedule Webi reports on our XIr2 environment. It only occurs when using a universe pointing to large Oracle transactional tables. The reports are set to Refresh on Open to force the use of prompts.
We are using the standard scheduling procedure detailed below:
1.log on to infoview
2.select your report
3.click schedule
4.expand the prompt section
5.click modify (the prompt window opens)
6.select all the new prompt values
7.Press apply
8.Schedule
Normally there is no delay between step 7 and 8. However for all reports using this universe webi hangs with the following message "Please Wait Prompts". Many articles online mention this is a known bug with XIr2 SP2 where BO sends some SQL to the database - it should only pass the values to the prompt and send the SQL once the schedule job starts (after step 8).
A known workaround is to disable "Refresh on Open" and the above error does not occur.
I assume data volume has a direct impact on the "delay/hanging" duration however I cannot explain why disabling the above option changes the schedule procedure.
Would anyone know what could cause this strange & inconsistent behaviour and how I can fix this without disabling Refresh On Open?
Thanks in advance,
Nicolas
