Embedded BW(7.X ) in ECC

Dear All,

We are trying to migrate the BW data targets and also the associated reports and content to ECC using BW add on(Embedded BW(7.X ) ).Is this sap recommended

approach. If yes, How much space we can utilize in ECC.

Hi Mahi,

In general, SAP recommends to use Embedded BW only for the SAP standard scenarios.

Beyond those cases particular rules and limitations apply,

• SAP strongly recommends not to use Embedded BW for data warehousing (EDW) use cases!

• The amount of data persisted in the Embedded BW should not exceed 20% of the overall data volume of the system.

This applies to Extraction from own Suite / S/4HANA system Integration of data from external applications Data from planning applications.

We can utilize 20 percent of space in ECC for planning only. this needs to be checked with SAP again.

SAP strongly recommends not to use Embedded BW for data warehousing (EDW) use cases!
