Executing a Process Chain from a Web Template

Can we have the execute button of a process chain in a button group in a web template or in any other way where we can execute a process chain from the web template

Hi Rashmi,

in button group it is possible to execute a process chain. To do so, choose:

1) Create a button group

2) Go to button details

3) Choose action command via command wizard

4) Go to commands

5) Insert

6) Commands for planning application

7) Execute a process chain

Hi Rashmi,

there should be a possibility starting a process chain by using fox formula (Integrated Planning). Using a custom fox formula you can call function moduls. In context of process chains this might be i.e. RSPC_API_CHAIN_START. This planning function can be executed from a standard button group.

The matter has roughly been discussed over [here|]. However you must be careful with the fields to be changed, it might take some time to test this properly.

If there are detailled questions probably it is more suitable to do a new post at Business Planning forum since this would be a really special planning topic. If you try doing it this way let us know your experiences...

Hi,

This is for a planning application. In my layout I have a calculated key figure (Sales Amount) which is based on input enabled key figures forecast quantity and ASP. At a certain point of time when the sales amount is approved it has to be copied to a new key figure (Budget). I am thinking of having this as a self update from the real time cube with the execute button of the corresponding process chain in the layout as a button.

May i know what is your exact requirement ? I think web template is used for reporting purpose we don't have such options in web template.

It is not possible with the standard types available - you can have a button in the template which in turn can call a BSP Page and trigger a Process chain from within.
