Does SAP Mobile Really Run Well?

I have been writing Sales Handheld solutions for many years that link into SAP in near real-time.

I am starting a new project; and I am considering SAP Mobile this time as it seems to have matured quite bit since I last reviewed it.

1) Can the SAP Mobile solution handle downloads and uploads for 1800+ sales reps per day with 30 orders per sales rep?

2) Does the DOE allow for true real-time connection (synchronous) sales order creation during the data sync-ing process?

3) Can anyone offer some good info (outside of the SAP Library materials) regarding this technology?

4) In short - does it work and does it work well - with little day-to-day baby-sitting once it has been built and deployed cleanly?
