MRP view

Hi Friends,

At the time of material creation I didnt select MRP view....but in the change mode if I want to hav MRP view its not possible...how do I proceed?............

Again go to MM01, input the material code and click on "Select views". Now select all MRP views and click on Organization levels. Input the required data and enter. System will give a message "Material already exist and will be extended".

hi,

U extend teh view by using Tcode: MM50

MRP Controller:

MRP controller the person who is responsible for MRP activities.

MRP TYPE:

Key that determines whether and how the material is planned.This will effect the palnning of the material for production else for extrenal proc.

Manual reorder point planning

Automatic reorder point planning

Forecast-based planning

Material requirements planning with forecasts for unplanned consumption

Master production scheduling (MPS)

MRP data is maintained by MM or PP people asthe name itself implies MATERIAL REQUIREMENT PLANNING

With regard to SD, item category and MRP type decides the key combination for determining schedule line category and we all know what all is controlled by schedule line category

MRP type

ND is no planning and PD is with planning

You can choose either one of these two

Plus a lot of MRP types you can define

In t code OMDQ you check what all being controlled by MPR types

MRP Type

Key that determines whether and how the material is planned. You have the following options:

Manual reorder point planning

Automatic reorder point planning

Forecast-based planning

Material requirements planning with forecasts for unplanned consumption

Master production scheduling (MPS)

The MRP controller is a person or a group of persons responsible for monitoring material availability. You can use the number entered here, for example, to select the planning results per MRP conroller.

Every material that is relevant to the planning run must be assigned an MRP controller number in the material master record.

You can also determine a special person for backorder processing who receives a mail if a goods receipt was posted for a missing part. You must enter the mail name of this person in the field entitled, recipient name.

In addition, you can define a person or a group of persons, who are to informed if you send a mail from the MRP list or stock/requirements list to the MRP controller for the material displayed.

In t code OMD0 you can check the details of MRP controllers and their controls

MRP controller you can choose as 000 and if you choose iPD it will ask for something in MRP 2 view also which you can give anything and enter and save

Dear Raja,

When I gave 000 as MRP controller system throws an error msg saying "MRP controller doesnt exist for plant 9999"...How sud I proceed?.................

Dear Kumar

Go to omd0 and check whether you have maintained the MRP controller for that plant. If not, maintain it and retry.

In OMD0 itself you can create that as a new entry

This problem would not have come if you had copied from a standard plant while creating your plant

Path also in img-production-material requirement planning----master data

here you can define MRP controllers t code OMD0

You can define MRP types t code OMDQ

Path: SPRO --> MM -->Consumption-Based Planning --> Master data --> Define MRP Controllers

Here, define for your MRP Controller against your Plant.

As you have maintained MRP type as PD then make sure that you are maintaining the Lot quantity feild , Schedule Margin Key also

The Purpose of Lot quantity is to tell that this material will be in that lot. so to maintain the lot quantity EX and maintain Schedule Margin Key as 000 which are standard

Key that determines which lot-sizing procedure the system uses within materials planning to calculate the quantity to be procured or produced.

This is maintained in img-production-MRP-planning-lot size calculation---check lot sizing procedure

Scheduling Margin Key for Floats

Key that the system uses to determine the floats required for scheduling an order. You define the following floats with the scheduling margin key:

u2022 opening period

u2022 float after production (only in the case of in-house production)

u2022 float before production (only in the case of in-house production)

u2022 release period (only in the case of production order management)

Floats are maintained in workdays.

Dependencies

You maintain the floats grouped together in the scheduling margin key in "Requirements Planning" Customizing.

this is maintained in img-production-MRP-planningscheduling and capacity parameters--define floats(schedule margin keys) T code is OMDC

Check with your MM/PP people the importance of these

I think this will be a warning message only and you can ignore that by pressing enter and enter

(Right now i dont have SAP access so i am exactly not able to see what it is?)

If still asks for something then give something by pressing any F4 options

MRP data is maintained by MM people or PP colleagues in real time

These details ,the system is asking is based on the MRP type you have choosen in MRP1 data which is a mandatory entry which along with item category controls our schedule line category

Extend the material to the same sales org. dis. chanl., plant and stloc. with selection of the MRP views.
