Hi everyone,

I have 2 universes connected to my dashboard in Design Studio 1.6 .

Universe A brings the Brand and the Products.

Uiverse B has only the Products and detailed data about the products

When adding the datasources with these universes both Products get a different technical name.

I want to select the brand from Universe A and automatically filter the Products belonging to that brand in product B. Ive tried the filter and filterext function in design studio but so far im not getting the desired result. Can anyone show me a example script how to do this?

So end result would be a Filter or dropdown box with the BRAND from UNIVERSE A

and the Datasource/Universe B filtering on the corresponding Products from that Brand

Hi J. La Grand,

To achieve your requirement you need to use Brand as Prompt in data source A and use get members to get Products list and filter them.

Since you are using it as a prompt you will get products of filtered brand in your list. Then use below code to filter.

var elements=DS_A.getMembers("Products", 100);

DS_B.setFilter("Products", elements);

Then again set value of prompt to null value, to get all brands in data source A.

But it's not the recommended way to do it. Add the Brand as Prompt in Data source B and use it for filtering.

Thanks,

Poovarasan
