adding external library to webdynpro mobile project

Hi ,

I wanted to know how do we add external jar files to be used in webdynpro project.

I basically want to itext.jar in my webdynpro project to create pdf files.

Now i have one project for type NW mobile UI component.

I have created a DC by external library type with itext.jar in it.

I have created a mobile application rpoject which i use to add the UI comp into.

I have also added the DC for itext.jar as dependency in the UI comp. But during runtime i am getting class def not found error.

Please let me know what can be done for this.

      Dear Srikumar,

First of all to make things clear, if you are developing for laptop, you need not create dependencies. Refer the initial part of the thread link i gave which gives info on the sdn wiki and quotes the steps. You can alternatively refer to the NWDS Help for the same under

Help->Help Contents->SAP NetWeaver CE Development Studio->Developer's Guide->Introduction to the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio->Working with the Developer Studio->Referencing Libraries->Referencing an External JAR File

You need to create the dependency only for Hand Held project. If you are developing a Hand Held app, I am not sure whether the iText library supports hand held java apps in the sense that the JVMs available for hand held have restrictive scope and hence may not have the functionalities required for iText classes to function.

Please mark the thread as answered if my or others' post solved your question.

      Regards,

      Veera

    Hi Srikumar,

Go to Projects>java build path>Libraries>Add external jarss>browse the respective jar file and click ok.
