How to map this in sap?

I have an issue in make to stock scenario.

In textile industry, assume that I have Material X for 6 beams in stock.

one beam is containing 1500 nou2019s threads and weight is 300 kg.

( so that we have 3006=1800kg with 15006=9000 threads in our stock)

In BOM for X material we maintain only kg. We not maintain threads.

Based on customer requirement we merge the beams and increase the thread no and sale to market For i.e. if customer ask 500kg with 3000 threads. For this I merge two beams(1500*2=3000 threads, weight 250kg for each beam). So that I can get 500kg with 3000 threads. Usually after received the order we do this operation.

Suppose I have stock of only one beam of 300 kg with 1500 threads. now I receive sales order for 200kg with 6000 thread. In MRP run system should not plan for this. Because we have enough stock. Weight wise its ok. But customer need 6000 threads. for this we need (1500*4=6000 threads) four beams.

How to map this in sap?

Hi,

Please prioritize your requirement. Do u want to satisfy your customers with their beam requiremnt or according to their kg requirement. Accordingly maintain your materials with its Base unit of measurement as beam or kg.

As an alternate solution you can maintain two similar material masters with different UOMs and plan your requirements respectively for beam-wise and kg-wise.
