Requirement to run MD01

Hi,

At client end they are planning for more than 200 FERT's per month. So running MD02 MRP would be a touch task for them. So far i have done config. to run MD02.

My questions are:

1. Do i need to do any additional setting to run MD01 ?

2. Can i run MD01 every month ? is there any criticalities involved ?

Hoping to do needful.

Thanks in advance,

Harris Panchal

    Hi,

    Do following,

    - Define scope of planing (in case of more then one plants exits and required to plan in one shot) OM0E

    - Define Parallel Processing in MRP (SPRO ---> Production --> Material Requirements Planning -> Planning-> Define Parallel Processing in MRP)

    - And most important thing check Planning File(MD21) entry exists for all the Fert Codes before Total Planning run.

    Regards,

    Dhaval

    Hi,

To run MD01, you need to configure the scope of planning. In this you need to mention what are the plants needs to consider for this planning run and its sequence. This is the only configuration you need to do.

Depends on your requirement you can run this monthly once or weekly or daily, it is purely depending on your business needs.

    Hi,

You can run MD01 , if you have more than one plant and MRP Area then you need to config SCope of Planning to have the sequaence of the Plant in which system should run MRP.

Based on your reqt you can run MD01 with what ever frequency you want.

The MRP config what you have carried out for MD02 will suffice to run MRP in TCode : MD01 ,Except the scope of planning. If you have only one plant and not using MRP Areas then even the Scope of planning is not reqd to be configured.

    Hope this will help you.

    regards

    Hi Harris,

You can run MRP at Plant level with MD01 or across plants using Scope of Planning or across MRP areas.

In your case, i think you can define a scope of planning for plant - OM0E & then specify the same in the scope field. What this scope does is basically define the sequence in which you want to plan.

In the MD01, specify the parameters as per your business need, also select parrallel processing.

After you enter the parameters, save it as a variant & run the program with the created variant in background.

You can define the program to run at intervals as required by business.

    Hope it is clear now.

    If helpful awards points

    Regards,

    Vivek

    Hi,

You need to maintain the Planning File entries for all the materials. Planning File entries are not required for MD02, but it is required for MD01. Make sure that the materials which are to be planned, exist in Planning File. Use T Code MD20 to create a Planning File entry.

If you want to run MRP every month, Configure the Planning Horizon in OPPQ accordingly, along with other settings mentioned in other answers (Scope of planning).

    Hope it helps.

    Regards,

    Rohit.

    Hi Harris,

besides the above you also can use a user exit if you want to do selective run by MRP controllers etc
