QM Proc active indicator

Dear Friends ,

In material master in Qm view QM Proc active indicator is used for activating if the material is under inspection when there is new material or vendor this is what my understanding

Acutally i want to activate procurement inspection only for particular plant for example for plant A

so i decided not to use this indicator and i just maintain inspection type 01 for vendor material inspection process

just wonder what is the pros and cons of this indicator using

Hi Raj,

The QM in procurement is purposely used to adhere control of QM over Purchase. As part of one of it's controls what you wrote regarding initial purchase of material is absolutely correct.

But The what system actually do with the QM Control is...

Will make Q - Info Record mandatory for Material-Plant-Vendor Combination.

i.e. for plant 1001 & 1002, Material ABC, Vendor V are there.

Now if you have activated the QM procurement control for both the plant (which is Advisable) system will make separate Q - info records for plant 1001 & 1002.

Now in ! - info record you can control if you want to skip the inspection for plant 1001 and want to inspect the same material from same vendor but from plant 1002, it can be mapped via Q - info Record.

Now in future if you want to block the material to be procured from the vendor for plant 1002 only then just block the Q - info record for that plant only.

Above are the benefits for maintaining the QM procurement data activated

But there will be no any discrepancies if you go with the option / designed you have put in your thread. The only thing will happen is you will miss these controls of QM over MM (Purchase).

Quality Procurement tick is at client level. If you active for one plant for a material it becomes mandaory for all other plant which has this material.

The procurement key is an important tool for a quality personnel to have a control, efficiency on the procurment cycle. Well explained by Shyamal
