RFx (x could be I=Information, P=Proposal, Q=Quotation)
RFI: Used when you have a questionaire based evaluation of a sourcing process
RFP: Used when you have a detailed sourcing cycle to be operformed, which could include Questionniare based evaluation, technical evaluation and also asing suppliers to quote for some line items etc
RFQ: This is widely used only to ask supplier to provide a commercial quote for all the line items enclosed on the RFQ document
based on your business need you can use any of these
