Issue Relating to Power Cost

Former Member

Hi,

We have a scenario where we want to allocate service cost centers power cost to production cost centers. Service Cost centers are nothing but maintenance cost centers. But here in the plant maintenance order they are not confirming the power activity. But the units for power are obtained in maintenance order through measuring points. So can I take these units of power and allocate to product cost centers through development, so that product cost center power units include power units confirmed by production order and also power units allocated from maintenance order through abap development. Whether it is possible through development. Please suggest me.

My Problem is solved. We are distributing the power cost by way of SKF

I dont think you need to do somuch of development. You maintain SKF and ask the users to maintain the values of SKF for the receiver production cost centers with value of Power Units. Use Assessment to transfer the costs from service cost center to receiver production cost center by using SKF as basis of allocation.

Dear,

Going for ABAP development for Cost allocation directly to the Production CC is not the best option. The Maintenance cost has to be first recorded in the Service cost center and then it has to be split to the production cost centers, this way you can have the track of cost per cost center in the reporting point of view and also you will be able to differentiate the direct cost and the cost from Maintenance.

The option for capturing the costs in the manufacturing cost center, you can give the logic to arrive at the cost based on the power units and power cost / hr and update it in the approriate Service cost center, this program can be run on daily basis to update them.

After this you can define in the assessment cycle to allocate these costs to the Production Cost Centers.

Can you tell me the option for capturing the costs in the manufacturing cost center, and give the logic to arrive at the cost based on the power units and power cost / hr and update it in the approriate Service cost center, this program can be run on daily basis to update them.

Can You explain in detail.

Hi Prasanth,

Pls try to understand the following...

For allocation of cost of Service / Utility Cost Centers to Production Cost Centers, the method available in SAP is Direct / Indirect Activity Allocation.

Direct Activity Allocation:

Let us take example of Service Cost Center "Power" and Reciver Cost Centers (Production Cost Centers) A & B.

Now, If you know the details of consumption of Power Units (KWH or MWH) by two different Production Cost Centers, you will have to plan the cost of "Power" cost center (Service Cost Center) in KP06 - Layout 1-102. In this layout, you will give Receiver Activity Type , Receiver Cost Center, Sender Activity Type and Sender Cost Center.

Sender Cost Center : Your "Power" Cost Center

Sender Activity Type: "Power" Activity Type (you have to create this activity type in KL01 - for which you

need to create secondary cost element with category 43)

Receiver Cost Center : Production Cost Centers A & B

Receiver Activity Type: The activity you have planned in KP26 for your Production Cost Centers

Once you fill up the details inside, run KSPI, then Allocation of Service Cost to different Production Cost Centers.

Indirect Activity Allocation:

In this case, you will plan Activity Quantity (of Power activity) in Power Cost Center in KP26

You will plan cost in KP06 in layout 1-101.

Then, you need to create SKF for Power Units and do planning of SKF in KP46.

The Create on Indirect Activity Allocation Cycle (KSC7) where in your sender cost center will be your Power Cost Center, Sender Activity Type will be your "Power" Activity Type and receiver cost centers will be your Production cost centers A and B.

Execute the cycle in KSCB

Hi Srikanth,

Can u give your mobile number. The number what you have given is not correct, because it has only 9 digits.
