Oracle 9 Database Connection Error - VB6 CR XI

os: windowsxp, crversion: crxi, db: oracle 9i

I have set up a report in cr xi thats connecting to an oracle 9 db. The reports works perfect in crystal reports.

When i run the report with the VB6 app I created it fails to connect. The only way I could get it to work was to bypass the proxy server and then it works perfectly.

I put the same VB6 app on separate dev computer that has oracle 8. It runs the app and connects fine without bypassing the proxy server.

All of our computers on the network are running oracle 9 and since we are a large company servers move around alot and bypassing the proxy server does not help me one bit.

Has anyone else run into this? Why would it work with oracle 8 and not with oracle 9? I need the report to work with oracle 9 and the proxy server.

    Hi Jay,

Please post this forum on the .net development thread instead. The people there are the best people to look into this. Please follow this link to navigate there - SAP Crystal Reports, version for Visual Studio

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Jay.
