Hi All
Is there some standard config that will allow me to 'hide' the stock held in a warehouse bin when I process and MB1A movement type 281.
Problem:
After processing the MB1A I look into LB10 and try to process the pick but the stock is 'unavailable for picking' and I then have to reverse the material document to cancel the pick.
Although the bin is blocked for 'stock removal' can I also hide it from the MB1A process so that SAP omits all blocked bins from picking.
I hope I have explained myself adaquately.
Thanks in advance
Darren
Thanks for all your help

One option:
You can assign another SLoc to the WH.
If you are not allowed to use that material you can post it from the normal SLoc (SLoc1) to the other SLoc (sLoc2). The product will stay in the same WH, in the same bin but you cannot post it via MB1A if you use SLoc1.
In this way your bin will be "hidden".
This is a some kind of workaround if you don't want to block your material or set its status to restricted.
(this would serve as a logical storage location)

Hi,
While creating transfer order for material document system picks the storage bin then select bin which is not blocked.

Hi Ravi
I dont want to get to the TR/TO creation in LB10 before I realise that the stock I need to process is in a blocked bin.
I would like to be at the IM level (MB1A) and have an error message that there is no stock available (if stock is in a blocked bin) rather than process the IM level and then fail at the WM level. This just means that I have to cancel the material document.
How can o block a bin at IM and WM level?
Any ideas?
regards
Darren
MB1A does not look into WM, it is a pure IM transaction.
If you want do hide stock from beeing used in IM transactions, then you have to do this in IM.

Hi Jurgen
Many thanks for the simple explination.
I think i have a problem then.
I could have an instance of stock being in a normal bin and the bin i want to hide. But IM will show total stock available. If i blocked material by quant will this hide material at IM? Or is there another method of hiding bin/stock at IM?
Thanks again in advance
Darren
Stock situation in IM and WM has to be equal.
And WM stock should match physical stock.
blocking a quant will not work either.
Why do you need to hide something?
Let me guess: you have a inventory difference, you move the missing stock from its bin to a dedicated bin for missing stock. And you want keep it there, as you believe you may find it again during the year, and in case you dont, then you write it off with the standard inventory process at the end of the year.
This is not how you should work with an integrated system.
Why dont you block the stock in IM?
An alternative way is to turn the process from the usual IM followed by WM to WM first and then IM. Have the requestor create manual TRs, then you do the TO to interim storage bin first and finally post the IM movement.
