batch number

Dear Expert

we are facing one problem in batch number . previously batch number is maintained in this fashion first 3 places for plants then next 2 for calender year then next 2 for weeks and last 3 for po's

like p010823890 p01 for plant 08 for calender year 23 for week and 890 for po number in the week

but my client used to made for than thousand po in the week so we merge weeks in the po list, but one problem arise at last week of december system assume 28 of December as 1 st week of january because 28 December comes on sunday and 1st on thursday so system is taking wrong date which lead to problem in the future , can anyone help
