Industry sector...

Hi, everyone~

I'k like to check the industry sector field of material master.

My question is,

Can we use one more industry sector within one system?

For example, compony code(1000)/plant(1000)/industry sector(A/M/...)

Additonally, we're using industry solution(DIMP).

Best regards,

Gooyoun, Cho

      Thanks for reply in advance.

Okay, i checked the functional possibility accourding to your recommendation.

      Then i have another question.

If i customizing industry sector and material type, do i have to change current functionalities(procurement, inventory...)?

For example we already have business process(procurement, inventory...).

But if i add/change industry sector and material type, i'd like to know the influence of current process.

We don't have any business change.

      Best regards,

      Gooyoun Cho

    Hi,

Of course, you can use more than one industry sector in SAP system.

    Use industry sector:

When you create a material master record, you are required to classify the material according to industry sector and material type.

Like material types, industry sectors have control functions in the R/3 System. For example, it is a factor determining the screen sequence and field selection in a material master record. Once you have assigned an industry sector to a material, you cannot change the industry sector again afterwards.

    Features:

The standard R/3 System contains the following industry sectors. The ID used to identify the industry sector internally appears in parentheses.

    • Plant engineering and construction (A)

    • Chemical industry (C)

    • Mechanical engineering (M)

    • Pharmaceuticals (P)

    • The other sectors are for retail.

    Activities:

Your system administrator can define other industry sectors in Customizing for the Material Master in Define Industry Sectors and Industry-Sector-Specific Field Selection.

    Good day
