Outbound delivery item in more than one wave

Hi,

we have a customer requirment to assign one outbound delivery item to max. two waves.

Dependent on the WHO creation result we have to do this in a few exception cases.

Is this possible? Any idea how to handle such a requirment in eWM?

Best Regards

Christian

...Thilak - did you check all points from my previous comment? You have two separate bins in the RBD for the given item (for the full pallet and partial qty)?

If yes, it can only be the wave template determination. You need to have different wave templates to be determined for the different areas. Otherwise the wave items will still end up in one wave.

If not, you have a problem with the STSS for stock removal.

Hello Hendrik,

Another Solution-> We can also have the same item merged in single wave and determine the multiple bins using quantity classification & Pack spec determination in Picking Strategies & With the ware house order creation rules if we have multiple activity areas then have two ware house creation rules from the AA then two ware house orders will be created at the end can be picked parallely right... But yes here we will use one two pick lists (WO'S) for one delivery item...

Hi Christian,

you can setup the system in standard to split based on your scenario automatically. You only need to make sure to have different pick bins (rough bin determination) on item level of the ODO. In case these bins have different AA you can find different waves based no these different AAs.

In order to get separate pick bins for full pallet and partial pallet quantitiy in the ODO items you need to setup the storage type search sequence accordingly (and maintain qty classificator based on UOM or packspec). For the latter you can also refer to this post:

Hope that helps!

hi,

i have got a similar issue. could you please help me?

we are two storage type where we maintain the full pallets in the highbay and the partial pallets in the manual warehouse.

i am creating a odo for 40 crt and i expect two waves/items to be created for this split up.

for the product "X" that i use, 32 crt = 1 pal which should fetch a full pallet from the highbay and for the remaining 8 crt it should create wave/items for picking from the manual warehouse.

this is not happening, it is just creating a wave for the full pallet retrieval from the mfs managed highbay.

could you please let me know the appropraite places to check what would have gone wrong. this was earlier working and suddenly have this issue.

if you could give me some speciffic nodes to check, i would do it. well if the stock is not there in the system, would the split doesnt happen?

creation of wave is not based on the availability of the stock, so i am wondering if you help in this .

thanks

anand.

Hi Jürgen,

thanks for the answer.

Yes sure; the wave is created before the WT/WHO Creation.

But our requirement says we must split after the WHO creation.

For example:

outbound delivery item 10 (Quantity 150)

One source storage HU with 100 (Full packspec quantity)

One source storage Hu with 50 (No full quantity).

In this case we like to put the WHO with Quantity 100 to another (maybe new) wave.

We know we have to add some customer coding to split the wave afterwards and maybe to create a new wave.

But my question was if this in principle possible? Does the data model in SAP covers this case?

Regards and many thanks

Christian

Hi,

"we have a customer requirment to assign one outbound delivery item to max. two waves"

It is possible to assign one item to more then one wave. Details are explained here:

https://help.sap.com/viewer/3d97bec9bf1649099384bb8167df3cf2/9.5.0.2/en-US/d8cbcb53ad377114e10000000... (in the lower part of the screen, the section Assignment of an Item to Different Waves.

BUT: I would not know how to limit it to a maximum number of waves. OK, probably by the strategy this is manageable, but there is not value you can set.

"Dependent on the WHO creation result we have to do this in a few exception cases."

AND this has nothing to do with the WHO creation result. Because the wave comes before the WT / WO creation. Or you mean something else with "wave"...
