hi

changing the decimal places is not recomended by SAP

when u go to OY04 here u will get some text to read

read it first and then change the decimals if it is really the need for business process

now although u have given the 3 decimals and if ur using rounding rules then this 3 decimals will auto converted to the 2 digits as full values

rather than this what u can do is

insted on 1.2345 per 1 unit use 123.45 per 100 units

Dear Vivek,

You can set the 3 decimal places for PO

But it is suggested that you dont go for it.Coz it does have effect in other modules also like SD and FI.They will face the problem somewhere or other.I have tried it and there were problems in FI. So i would suggest that dont go for 3 or 4 decimal places.

As in indian scenrios we dont require 3 decimal places for materials that has to be purchasedd from vendors

If at there is requirement,,I Think u should workout with additional unit of measurement

Like for Eg for 1000 kg of material rate is 134569

Then rate per unit is 134.569 per kg

or for 10000 kg of material rate is 987654321

in this case rate will be 98765.4321 Rs Per kg

What if any any vendor charges you for 1 lac kg(100 ton) 987654321 then in that case ur decimal places will be 5 digits.

It is suggested that you can work out with additional unit of measurement. or in PO u just mention per 1000Kg or per 100 Kg or per 10000 kg rates.

Hope this will be of some help to u
