Change environment variables for another user using remote desktop?

I have remote desktop access with administrative rights to a Win 2003 Ent R2 x64 system (Username: Administrator)

I need to change the env var of user "sapadm".

I have made "sapadm" a member of the "Remote Desktop User" group but I think remote desktop access is not activated in System Properties for this user.

I only have remote desktop access to the server. How can I activate remote desktop for this user so that I can set the env vars ? Is there a workaround to change the env vars if I cannot login with remote desktop ?

Thanks

Hi,

Right click on My computer goto manage, local users and groups select the user, properties and go to remote control and activate.

I realised that remote desktop access was activated for this user.

The problem was that sapadm was denied the right - "logon through terminal services".

To allow this, I did the following:

1. Logon remotely using any user

2. Goto Control Panel > Administrative tools > Local security policy > Local policies > User rights assignment > Deny logon through terminal services

3. Remove the sapadm user from the list

Now I can logon remotely using sapadm and change the env vars too
