Dear Sami

You have understood me wrongly. The catalog will not appear in defect recording screen or in notifications. Please follow the following steps to know the effects of catalog described in MIC on result recording

1)In MIC please attach the following catalogs - Defect location, Cause, activity.Along with catalogs for rejection

2) assign the MIC in inspection plan

3) Create the lot

4) Reject the MIC

5) Defect will get recorded automaticaly

6) Click on the Charac.Defects (Red Flag)

7) It will take you to another pop Up defect overview

😎 Select the defect and click on Detail View ( First icon below the screen)

😎 You will get another pop - Defect Items

9) You will have defect code that you have already entered along with Defect Location, Cause & Activity.

Are you getting it.

Press F4 on each Catalog sections. In the selection you will get only the code group you had selected in MIC. This should work.

Please let me know if this doesnt work.

Hi Gajesh

Thanks lot

it is working as you said but my Task code which is selected is not visible in qm notification.why?

How it is useful to business ?

if i have configured automatic defect recording what is the difference?

or I don't need to configure automatic defect record - in that case it will not work?

Can you plz throw some more light on this issue?

And also can you plz address another MICissue for incomplete and complete MIC?

Thanks

Sami

Dear Sami,

this is applicable for automatic defect recording and thereby auto trigger of notification

Dear Sami

Task code selected in MIC will not reflect any where in the Notification. There is a limitation for that.

About the defect recording. This is not madatory. See in some industries obvious defect for some MICS are very clear. So integrating defect recording in backgroud helps. But if the reason for the defect for the mic is not known then this is not applicable. Share with your client this application and let them give the feedback

any more doubts please let me know

Dear Sami,

The catalogs, 2 5 8 will not get automated. only defect codes assigned in the background. If you go in the detail as I said in the previous reply you will be able to see Cause, activity, defect location. If you press F4 you will get the catalog that you have assigned in the MIC (Qs21).

Please remember you are only giving catalog code group in the QS21 and no codes are given for these catalogs. but for defect codes you are giving both code group and code. so this gets assigned automatically based on the results

hope this clarifies

HI Gajesh

I appreciate your fast respone

I know how defect record works,

my question is wat is the use of other catalogs which is assigned to MIC(qs21)

the defect location / cause / task catalog code groups which is is assigned in QS21 are not shown in QM02 or defect rrecord to select the codes --- I'm getting all the code groups which are assigned in profile.

let say defect location code group A assinged in MIC - but in my defect record if i want to select the any one codes of code group A but in reality F4 -shows all code groups which are in my profile.

same thing happened for othe catalogs....

MY question here is what is the use of catalog codes which are assigned in MIC quantative(qs21) ?

how it is is useful when and where?

(i know defect record code which is assigned for upper /lower and general defect and automatic defect record generation)

please throw some lights on this issue

thanks

Dear Sami,

You are right . This will act as a catalog profile.

1) Create an MIC with selection defect recording in the control indicator. In catalogs select Defect codes for Rejection. What this means is if an inspection characteristic is rejected during results recording, the function for recording defects for a characteristic is automatically called up. Defects recording in the background is done if you define defect codes in the inspection characteristic. You can specify three defect codes for a quantitative characteristic:A defect code for a general rejection,A defect code for a rejection at an upper specification limit,A defect code for a rejection at a lower specification limit.

2) Now you can select the other catalogs in Assigned inspection catalog. you can assign up to 4 code groups or selected sets to describe the inspection characteristic . Namely Defect location, Cause, activity.

3) Go to result recording and reject the MIC. Automaticaly defect will get recorded. click in Charac.Defects it will take you to the defect overview. Select the defect and Click on Detail View ( First icon below the screen) you will get a pop up Defect item. here you can enter Defect location, Cause, activity. The code group you had selected in the MIC will be available here

Hope this explains
