F4 help for Authorization Variable gives entire master data in Analyzer 7.0

Hi All,

I am facing a strange issue with analyzer 7.0. I have two authorization variables in the query which are ready for input. When i run the query in analyzer 7.0, the F4 help for these two variables is showing entire master data instead of only authorized values. But if i run the query in Analyzer 3.x, it works fine, it gives only authorized values. It runs fine if i run the query in RSRT as well.

Is there any setting to be done in the query level or info object level or in analyzer so that it displays only authorized values?

Please help me. We are on the support package 16 in BeX analyzer.

Thanks,

Bindu

    Hi Bindu,

    are you using GUI 6.40?

Then probably you should update to support package 18.

We never used 16, we went from 15 directly to 18.

We are using authorization variables type hierarchy node and there is no problem - the users see only the hierarchy nodes they are authorized to see.

    regards

    Cornelia

    Hi Bindu,

in the properties of the characteristic (not the variable's one) from the query designer you can enable the reading mode for filter selection, did u try to change them and see if something changes?

      Hi,

Are you talking about the Advanced options "Access Type For Result Values"? It is set to Posted values for these two authorized variables. I didnt try with other two options. But it still works fine when i run the query in web/ Analyzer 3.x, that is why i got surprised why it is not working with analyzer 7.0 alone. Have any one faced the same issue?

Support Package Stack 16 solved the above issue.
