dealing with undelivered emails

Hello,

We are using SAP CRM interaction center.
IC agents log service requests, and send out emails.
They can enter the to: email address directly.
Sometimes they fill in a non existing email address.
These emails appear in SOST with an error message 806:
Message no. XS806
Diagnosis:
The message was processed correctly in the SAP system.
However, a subsequent system has classified the receiver xyz@wrongaddress.com as invalid or unknown and has not delivered the message to this receiver.

We are looking for an automated way to update the originating service request, with information indicating that the email could not be delivered.
Is anyone aware of a standard solution for this, or has anyone implemented a custom solution?
